Some pistols get a new set of sights and call it an upgrade. Others get the full treatment. The SIG Sauer P226-X AGENCY belongs firmly in the second category. Unveiled at SIG NEXT, it brings together two names that need little introduction in the handgun world: SIG Sauer and Agency Arms. The result is a full-size 9mm P226 with a distinctly custom look, finished in Bronze Cerakote that makes it look right at home in a collection where ordinary black pistols might struggle to get noticed. The slide is more than a styling exercise. It features an integral single-port compensator and Agency Arms' 5AXIS serrations, paired with a 3.8-inch bull barrel. Up top sits a factory-installed, enclosed ROMEO-X SIG-LOC PRO reflex sight, backed up by XRAY3 Day/Night sights. In other words, this P226 arrives with its optic setup already sorted, rather than leaving the owner to start shopping for accessories. The custom touches continue on the alloy frame. Scale-pattern front-strap checkering and matching alloy LOK grip panels give the pistol a distinctive texture, while the extended takedown lever adds another detail to the Agency Arms treatment. The AX3 fully adjustable single-action trigger completes a package aimed at shooters who prefer a crisp single-action pull over the traditional double-action/single-action setup. That choice makes this P226 a little different from the familiar formula. It is single-action only and includes a manual safety, so it is not simply a standard P226 wearing a fancy new outfit. It is a more specialized take on the platform, with its own handling characteristics and controls.
