Lost Odyssey is now running natively on a jailbroken PS5: beta release πΈ Screenshots (captured on PS5): https://imgur.com/a/RL9Kg30 I've ported LostOdysseyRecomp, the static recompilation of Lost Odyssey, to the PS5 as a homebrew title. It isn't an emulator: the original Xbox 360 game code is recompiled into native code and runs on the PS5's own CPU and GPU, with Vulkan graphics through mihawk-99's PS5 build of Mesa's RADV driver. What works Title screen, movies, field exploration, battles, cutscenes, menus Saving and loading 2560Γ1440 at up to 120 FPS on a 120 Hz display (60 FPS on 60 Hz) HDR10, with brightness calibration DualSense support with PlayStation button prompts Restore HP / MP on save (new): press L1+R1 for the debug menu, open Cheats, and turn it on in Quick tools. Your party refills every time you save, no restart needed What's new in v0.1.0-alpha.2 Fixed crashes and freezes during long cutscenes. Some cutscenes made the game pile up hundreds of MB of repeated screen clears until it ran out of memory or the GPU stalled. After the fix, a two-hour session with 40 area loads, battles and cutscenes ran without a single crash, with memory steady the whole time. Easier shader setup. The shader builder now downloads the game's shader pack itself, so it's one tool run on your PC and you copy two folders. Better crash reports. Logs now record memory use, so problems are much quicker to track down. Status: beta Tested on one console, firmware 13.60, USA/Europe disc set Known issue: a few seconds at about 70β80 FPS at the start of battles Discs 2β4 are untested. That's the main thing I need help with What you need A PS5 that can run homebrew titles (fake-signed titles enabled, ShadowMountPlus loaded) and FTP access Your own copy of Lost Odyssey (USA/Europe 4-disc set), extracted A Windows or Linux PC, used once to build the shaders from your own discs No game files or game-derived shaders are included or distributed. You supply your own discs. How to install (full steps are in the download) Download both files from the Releases page: the title (LostOdyssey-PS5.zip) and the shader builder (LostOdyssey-PS5-ShaderCacheBuilder.zip). Copy the PPSA99212 folder to /data/homebrew/PPSA99212/ on your PS5. Run the shader builder on your PC on your disc folder (30β90 minutes), then copy the cache and shaders folders it makes into the title folder. Copy your disc1βdisc4 folders into game/. Launch Lost Odyssey from the home screen. How you can help If you play it, especially on a different firmware or into discs 2β4, please open an issue on GitHub. Attach the newest log from /data/homebrew/PPSA99212/logs/, and boot.txt if it crashed. Copy boot.txt before relaunching, because each launch starts a new one.
