Hi everyone, I’m a new grad RN in Ontario, and my first nursing job was in an acute care hospital. Unfortunately, I struggled during orientation with time management, prioritization, clinical judgment, and documentation. There were also two medication-related near misses, but no known patient harm. I was still learning and found the fast-paced acute care environment overwhelming. My employment was eventually terminated during probation, and my former employer submitted a report to CNO. I recently received a letter from CNO asking me to submit a written reflection and attend a meeting. They have not yet made a final decision about starting a formal investigation. I’ve never been through anything like this before, and I’ve been extremely stressed and anxious about my nursing career. I’m currently working in long-term care and have been adapting well. I’m also seeking legal advice before responding to CNO. Has anyone experienced something similar, especially as a new graduate? Did your case resolve after reflection or education, or did it proceed to a formal investigation? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice. Thank you! ❤️ submitted by /u/Trick_Campaign5 [link] [comments]
