I built a reading app that changes its ambient audio as the story unfolds

Wait 5 sec.

Do you ever put on hours-long YouTube videos with ambient music while reading? Have you ever noticed that the music that fits perfectly at the beginning of a book doesn't always match what's happening a few chapters later? Imagine reading a peaceful scene with soft rain in the background, then entering a crowded tavern where you can hear people talking, or reaching a tense moment where the music changes to match the mood. That's why I built Ambient Reader: a web app that automatically analyzes the scenes in your book and adapts the ambient sounds and music as you read. It supports EPUB, PDF, and other book formats, with customizable visual environments and optional AI-powered scene analysis. The first half of the video shows the app in Spanish, while the second half switches to English. The app supports both languages. I'd love to hear what you think and whether you'd find something like this useful! GitHub: https://github.com/kuashix-debug/ambient-reader submitted by /u/Psychological-Bet-80 [link] [comments]
