House Judiciary Committee Democrats released a 50-page staff report on Monday that alleges President Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s, MS Now reports. This unsigned report also calls for the appointment of an independent special counsel to investigate the President, while simultaneously looking into potential conflicts of interest regarding Attorney General Todd Blanche and the Justice Department. The document claims that the Justice Department is hiding information from state and foreign law enforcement agencies. Rep. Jamie Raskin, who is the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, stated, “The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard. Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice.” The report contains one allegation against the President that is described as entirely new The report, however, provides no direct evidence beyond conversations between a woman and committee staff. A Democratic source from the committee noted that the report relies on publicly available accounts and survivor conversations, though they did not provide specific details on those discussions, citing privacy concerns. A report released Monday by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee on President Donald Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein included new details from a woman who alleged Trump raped her in 1993 https://t.co/vKPlSFk6eO— TIME (@TIME) October 26, 2026 The report further compares recent statements made by the President about Epstein to various pieces of documentary evidence, such as emails, deposition transcripts, and the President’s own signatures and drawings. It points out what it views as inconsistencies regarding his awareness of Epstein’s crimes. The report also targets Attorney General Blanche, alleging that he may have obstructed justice to protect the President. Specifically, the document points to a meeting between Blanche and Ghislaine Maxwell, suggesting it potentially constituted witness tampering. The authors write, “Blanche’s apparent instructions not to discuss a specific Epstein victim, and how that victim could implicate Donald Trump, could easily run afoul of 18 U.S.C. § 1512, which forbids hindering or delaying the communication of information relating to the potential commission of a federal offense to a law enforcement officer, as well as corruptly influencing the testimony of any person in an official proceeding — such as a congressional interview and investigation.” The Justice Department responded to these claims by calling the report a last-ditch effort to mislead the public. A spokesperson for the department stated that they have complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and provided nearly 3 million documents to the public. The spokesperson further noted, “The Department also freely offered members of Congress the opportunity to view the files unredacted. All these files were part of FBI investigations that spanned decades and these claims were investigated by agents at the time.” Blanche defended the department’s record as well, stating that they undertook a Herculean task to review millions of files. He maintained that the department met its obligations expeditiously. In June, a federal judge found that Blanche had effectively conceded that the department was in violation of the Transparency Act for not producing certain unredacted and foreign language documents, a ruling that the department is currently appealing. For his part, the President has long denied any sexual misconduct involving anyone connected to Epstein and has stated he knew nothing of the crimes. White House spokesperson Lauren Bis dismissed the allegations, stating, “none of these allegations are true.” Bis added, “This ‘report’ is nothing more than a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans from the surging Republican momentum driven by President Trump’s historic achievements. The President kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club at Mar-a-Lago because he was a creep, and he has been fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.”
