I got tired of typing 200-word prompts to Claude, so I built a Windows dictation app that lives in a notch at the top of your screen

Wait 5 sec.

Hey all, I'm Ajoy, a solo founder from India. Most of my day goes into explaining things to AI tools: what to build, what to change, what broke. Typing all of that out was slowing me down more than the coding itself. So, I built Vyomara Voice, a dictation app for Windows: Press Alt + Q in any app and just talk. Ramble, restart, change your mind mid-sentence. It transcribes, then cleans it up: filler words gone, and if you say, "by month… no wait, by week", it keeps "by week". The clean text pastes right where your cursor is: chat, email, code editor, anywhere. It sits in a tiny notch at the top of the screen (or a small capsule widget, your choice) and stays out of the way. Projects: give each project its own instructions, so it knows your product names and jargon. 15 spoken languages, including Hindi, with optional Hinglish output in Roman letters. Honest limits, since it's early access: Windows 10/11 only for now. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning ("More info" → "Run anyway"). Signing is next on my list. Free tier: 120 minutes in your first 7 days, then 30 min/week. Pro is coming, not buyable yet. Privacy: audio and text are never saved on my servers (only usage numbers like recording length), and your dictation history stays on your PC. I'd really value blunt feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you use it every day? https://voice.vyomara.com submitted by /u/Adventurous-Voice334 [link] [comments]
