About the Role We are building a next-generation, multi-tenant Shopify AI Shopping Assistant designed to help merchants transform their raw product catalogs and store policies into an interactive, conversational discovery experience. We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Shopify App Developer with deep expertise in the Shopify ecosystem, modern asynchronous application architectures, and robust multi-tenant data isolation. You will own the implementation from initial OAuth installation flows and GraphQL data ingestion pipelines to the deployment of client-side Theme App Extensions. Enforce flawless database row-level security (RLS) ensuring strict cross-store data isolation. Catalog Ingestion & Sync: Design optimized, backgrounded catalog ingestion processes via the Shopify Admin GraphQL API. Configure robust webhook handlers (products/update, products/delete) resilient to duplicate deliveries and network latency. GDPR & Marketplace Compliance: Build and rigorously verify the mandatory Shopify Marketplace compliance webhooks (/api/gdpr/customers_redact, /api/gdpr/shop_redact, /api/gdpr/customers_data_request) featuring secure X-Shopify-Hmac-Sha256 signature validation. Storefront Widget Architecture: Develop a zero-dependency, ultra-lightweight async storefront widget using Shopify Theme App Extensions (App Embed Blocks). Ensure it does not impact core Web Vitals or block storefront interactivity. Advanced Client Interception: Build contextual page-state tracking (URL parsing for localized product context) and desktop exit-intent tracking (mouse velocity and idle-state micro-triggers). AI Inference Pipeline: Code a low-latency, multi-turn RAG conversation engine featuring local sliding interaction arrays (max 3 turns) and background summary compression to minimize LLM token bloat and control operational overhead. Conversion Engine Integration: Build an inline product configuration selector directly within the chat widget that injects items directly into the checkout funnel via the Shopify AJAX Engine (/cart/add.js) with explicit conversion tracking attributes (?attributes[ref]=cartsaver_ai). Rate-Limiting & Security: Deploy stateless Redis rate-limiting session budgets (hard ceiling of 5 active LLM calls per 30-minute sliding window) to shield our API budget against malicious prompt injection or automated flooding. Qualifications & Experience 3+ years of hands-on experience building custom or public production-ready Shopify Apps. Deep architectural understanding of Shopify Theme App Extensions, app embed contexts, and the Shopify AJAX API. Proven experience handling data synchronization pipelines using Shopify GraphQL Admin APIs (Bulk Operations experience is a strong plus). Demonstrated mastery of Node.js, TypeScript, and relational database management (PostgreSQL RLS, indexing). Familiarity with vector embeddings, text chunking strategies, or running low-latency server-side LLM inference pipelines.
