I'm exploring a pet-care app idea called Petzzie. Does this have potential?

Wait 5 sec.

I've been thinking about building a side project called Petzzie, and before spending weeks developing it, I want to figure out whether it solves problems people actually care about. The idea is to bring a few aspects of pet care into one app: Pet health tracker: Track feeding habits, vaccination schedules, medications, and health records. Find a vet: Discover nearby veterinary clinics and access their contact details. How to Train Your Pet: A guide to teaching pets basic commands, good habits, and tricks. Basically, How to Train Your Dragon, except your pet probably won't fly. Stray animal reporting: Report injured or neglected stray animals so local rescuers and animal welfare organisations can potentially help. The core idea is: Care for yours. Speak for theirs. What interests me most is combining everyday pet management with animal welfare. Most of the features sound useful individually, but I'm unsure whether bringing them together makes the product more valuable or just turns it into an app that tries to do too much. I'm a software developer, so building the initial version isn't the main concern. I'd rather validate the idea before committing the time. I'd appreciate some honest feedback: Does this sound like a product people would genuinely use, or is the scope too broad? Which feature would you build first, and why? Would you focus on pet owners initially or start with the stray animal reporting side? What existing apps or products already solve these problems well? If you were building this, what would you cut from the initial MVP? I'm considering starting with a simple landing page and waitlist to gauge interest before building the actual app. I'm not looking for validation just for the sake of it. I'd rather hear why this wouldn't work than spend time building something nobody needs. submitted by /u/Ok_Recover_6404 [link] [comments]
