RN friend explained to me the clinical nightmare that is managing Histoplasmosis, here I bring you some lab images of it. The fungus that causes it actually morphs between a yeast (37 °C) and a fluffy mold (25 °C). Out of a horror movie no?

Wait 5 sec.

On our side (lab) this is what we see Photo 1 = 37 °C yeast form, and 25 °C mold form. Photo 2 = microscopic appearance of the yeast form. Photo 3 = microscopic appearance of the mold form. Quite a creepy organism. submitted by /u/Muted_Shape9303 [link] [comments]
