Hello everyone, I’m a 19 year old college student. I kind of have a problem with doomscrolling and generally being on my phone a lot. While I have done some things right, such as not doomscrolling first thing in the morning, it gets worse later on in the day, and it’s a distraction, especially if I go on my phone to search something, only to find myself scrolling 5 mins later. I want to try No Scroll November, and hopefully, that will be the month that also gives me the motivation to stop doomscrolling altogether. While I can’t 100% quit using social media altogether (sometimes I text people, and also I post on there related to my hobby), at least I want to quit the excessive overconsumption and overstimulation from Reels, and other short form scrolling content (i.e. TikTok, YouTube shorts). It will also help me significantly cut down on my social media time. Additionally, maybe it will also help me in other ways. My mind will be able to be more calm again, it won’t be so overstimulated all the time, and I’ll feel more connected and in the moment when it comes to social events, and also not just use my phone when I’m bored so it’ll allow my mind to rest. I want some tips on how I can effectively do it and eventually quit doomscrolling. Thank you all so much! 😊 submitted by /u/Pure_Temperature4049 to r/nosurf [link] [comments]
