I play in an adult rec league. Coaches cost too much, most classes near me are for kids, and the adult ones are few, pricey, far or at bad times. So I built a tool for my own training. You film your practice or game on your phone and paste one prompt into Claude Code or Codex. The agent installs what it needs after you OK it, reviews the video and gives you back: - a review video with clips, freeze-frame marks and narration - a page you read on your phone - a plan for your next practice, plus recovery and food around your week Basketball goes deepest: games, shooting and movement. How does it know what good form is? The drills come from a knowledge base in the repo, built on public FIBA and Jr. NBA coaching material and sports-science research, with sources you can check. Running, gym, HYROX and soccer get a general video review for now, with no sport-specific tracking yet. The prompt: Coach me on my sports video: Clone https://github.com/mariusDing/sports-video-coach and follow its START.md. It runs on your computer. Your video isn't uploaded to someone else's app. The analysis uses your own Claude or Codex account, so you pay for the usage. Claude Code helped me write the CLI. MIT, free: https://github.com/mariusDing/sports-video-coach I'd like feedback on what it gets wrong. If you know a sport other than basketball, I'd like help building its knowledge base. A star helps too. submitted by /u/Ordinary-Figure-1242 [link] [comments]
