I built a service that prints a personal newspaper on your home printer while you sleep

Wait 5 sec.

I work offshore on a rotation and I’m on a two and a half gigabyte a day data cap, so I got very aware of how much of my morning went to the phone. I wanted the old feeling of a paper with coffee, but with only the stuff I actually read. So I built Coffee Edition. You pick your sections once, like weather for your ZIP, headlines on your topics, the newsletters you already get, your teams, a crossword and old public domain comics, and every night it builds a real newspaper layout and emails it to your printer. Brother and Epson printers have their own email address so nothing gets installed. Everything else goes through a small Mac or Windows app. There’s a Kindle version too. It’s live at coffeeedition.net, five free mornings and no card to start. I’ve got three readers so far and I’d love blunt feedback on the signup and the paper itself. submitted by /u/simonshih1970 [link] [comments]
