Built a Reddit alternative — now I need people to tell me what sucks

Wait 5 sec.

I built a Reddit alternative because I got tired of how opaque moderation can be — would love some honest feedback I’ve been building a community/social site called Eorune and its finally live at eorune.xclabs.dev its still super early and honestly pretty empty right now lol, but the idea came from a bunch of stuff that annoys me about reddit posts disappearing and you barely know why, bans where nobody really explains anything, moderation sometimes feeling completely arbitrary, bots/AI spam everywhere, and mods doing a ton of work for free while the platform makes the money so with Eorune im trying to do some of that differently communities still make their own rules and moderate themselves obviously, im not trying to make an anything-goes site lol but when something gets removed there should actually be a reason attached to it, mods get proper logs/mail/saved responses/automation tools, and im trying to make the platform itself stay politically/viewpoint neutral instead of deciding what opinions people are supposed to have one of the bigger long term goals is also revenue sharing. if creators and community mods are the ones making the site worth using i think they should eventually get a cut too ive been building the actual product for a while and now ive reached the part im way worse at: getting the first real users 😂 so if anyone here feels like checking it out, the thing id genuinely like feedback on is: if you landed on Eorune today, what would stop you from making an account or using it? feel free to be brutal lol eorune.xclabs.dev submitted by /u/No_Elephant_1218 [link] [comments]
