A glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) has been reported at Lemthang in Bhutan, triggering a high alert across North Bengal as water flows downstream towards the Sankosh River. Authorities have urged residents along the river and its tributaries to move to safer locations. Around 4,000-5,000 people have been moved to shelters, while disaster response teams remain on alert amid concerns over possible flooding in the Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars.
