2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS with 44k miles worth it!

Wait 5 sec.

Hi all, I’m looking to downgrade my car to save monthly payment. I have a 2024 Toyota Corolla cross hybrid that my wife bought with low money down and high monthly payments over 84 months . However we have a kid now and she’s not working and I’m paying off that car plus another. Needless to say we can’t afford this and I want to trade it in for something cheap for me to save on payments (we got something else reliable for her and baby). Have an offer for 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS with only 44k miles( they said it belonged to an older woman who had it garaged and couldn’t drive it anymore which is how they got it ) and got a ppi that came back mostly fine (except bad battery, fluids and spark plugs needed changing, nothing serious). I am set to purchase this which will save me a ton of money but am nervous about reported engine issues some have mentioned which would invalidate my savings as to why I’m doing this. I don’t have records of frequency of her oil replacements but the inspector had no issues with the car. Any words of wisdom if I can get 3 years out of this car or should I walk and keep up a search for a Corolla with 100+k miles (which is same price range as this car with 40k but hard to find in my area) Thank you!! submitted by /u/ExtremeProfessor5958 to r/UsedCars [link] [comments]
