2000 is WWE's most surprisingly successful year.

Wait 5 sec.

It's not talked about enough how unlikey the year 2000 is success wise. The WWE lost their number 1 draw and the reason the majority of people were watching in Stone Cold Steve Austin. Leaving them to rely on guys like The Rock, Triple H, Foley and others to carry the company in his absence. While they were big stars, just below Austin, they were untested as major draws without him on the card. Not only were they able to carry the company, but 2000 ended being WWE's biggest year in the Attitude Era. You don't see that often where the star player is taken out and the team is able to have a championship year anyway. It very well could have gone that when they lost Austin, that ratings started to plummet. He was still the main reason many people watched, as evidenced by his ill timed heel turn at WM17 and the ratings dive after that. It's quite the miraculous year success wise. submitted by /u/Godders_22 [link] [comments]
