Four days later, he missed the defeat by Arsenal having cited illness. It is believed he then went Awol. Then, on Thursday, stories emerged that he had donated £10,000 to an Everton supporter with an aggressive form of kidney cancer. Those who know him say that he will now feel extremely remorseful for the actions that have threatened the team-first values and ethics in which Moyes places such stock. In an interview with Sky Sports in September 2025, he said: “People go, ‘He likes to go out, he likes to party,’ and I do. I want to be able to live my life and enjoy myself but obviously there’s a time and a place. Sometimes, I’ll be honest with you, I probably haven’t picked the right times. At [Manchester] City, I didn’t help myself at times, I’ll openly say that but then I don’t think it was all down to that.” submitted by /u/Sparky-moon [link] [comments]
