Hi all. I work remotely, and a lot of that time I have my XREAL glasses on and my Android phone plugged in: SSH, remote desktop, VS Code in the browser (vscode.dev, code-server), terminals. Sometimes in Samsung DeX, sometimes on the phone's own screen. The problem is always the keyboard. The big screen is great, but phone keyboards have no **Esc, Tab, Ctrl, Alt, F1–F12, arrows, Home/End or PgUp/PgDn** . Leaving vim, Ctrl+C in a terminal, Tab completion, moving through a file: all a pain. And I don't always want to carry a Bluetooth keyboard. So I built **KeyPlus** , free and open source (MIT). It comes as two apps, and you can install both: - **KeyPlus (popup):** a strip of those keys that sits right above whatever keyboard you already use: Gboard, Samsung's, anything. You keep your keyboard and get the missing keys on top. It follows the keyboard when you move or float it, and works on the DeX screen too. - **Berpiztu AI Keyboard:** a complete keyboard of its own. Its **Standard PC** layout looks like a real PC keyboard: F1–F12, Esc, Ctrl, Alt, ⊞, arrows, Home/End, PgUp/PgDn. Keys are sent the way a real hardware keyboard sends them (with scan codes), so remote desktop apps, terminals and browser editors take them as a real keyboard. Why it suits glasses: - **You look at the big screen and type on the phone.** Shortcuts like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Alt+Tab or Esc are one tap, with no switching between symbol pages. - **Your typing stays on your devices.** Glide typing and accent correction run on the phone. Voice typing runs on a computer of your own (NVIDIA's speech model). Nothing goes to anyone else's cloud. - **You can make it fit.** Add or remove keys and rows, resize the keyboard, float it or dock it. Each screen keeps its own layout. - **Clipboard history** , texts and images, to paste again. - **The same keyboard on Windows** , if you also work from a PC. Source code and downloads, on GitHub: - Code: https://github.com/Berpiztu/keyplus - Releases (APKs and the Windows installer): https://github.com/Berpiztu/keyplus/releases Spanish and English for now. I'd love feedback from anyone who works like this: which keys you miss most, and what doesn't fit your setup (DeX, mirroring, Beam Pro…). submitted by /u/Subject_Fan6340 to r/Xreal [link] [comments]
