Everyone's looking at EV stocks. But what about the companies making the actual parts?

Wait 5 sec.

Been thinking about this lately. Whenever there's talk about the auto sector growing in India, everyone jumps to Tata Motors, Mahindra, Maruti or whichever EV company is making headlines. But there's a whole bunch of businesses behind these cars that barely get talked about. Someone's making the batteries, brakes, sensors, wiring, motors, tyres and all the other stuff that goes into a vehicle. And here's what I find interesting. A car company needs people to keep buying new cars. But a company making replacement parts can keep selling even after the car is sold. Tyres wear out, batteries die, brakes need replacing. That's business coming in without someone having to buy a brand-new car. Then there's the whole EV shift. Some suppliers could benefit massively, while others making traditional engine components might actually struggle. Obviously, not every auto ancillary stock is going to be a winner. Some are already expensive, and plenty depend way too much on a handful of car manufacturers. But I do wonder if we're spending too much time looking at the companies selling cars and not enough time looking at the ones supplying them. If you had to bet on one part of India's auto industry for the next 5 years, would you go with actual car manufacturers, EV component makers, or the boring old tyre and spare parts businesses? submitted by /u/Economy_Explorer4256 to r/EquityResearchIndia [link] [comments]
