I built a free way for app devs to get installs, and for people to get paid apps for free. Legit. Store compliant!

Wait 5 sec.

Hi! I make apps, and the first installs were always the hardest part. Paid promotion costs more than a new app earns. So I built Premium App Drops. Every Friday, developers give away App Store and Google Play codes for their paid apps and Pro plans, and people claim one code per app, for free. Developers get installs from people who picked their app, plus a report of how many codes were claimed and in which countries. People get paid apps and Pro plans without paying. It's free for both sides, and nobody is ever asked for a review, so it stays within store rules. The first drop is Friday 27 November. The icons are made up for the video. The real apps come with Drop #001 on 27 November. Is it really free? Yes, for both sides, and I have no plans to charge for it. I make apps myself, and this is what I wanted when launching them. Is this allowed by Apple and Google? Yes. Offer codes and promo codes are the stores' own tools for giving an app away. Nobody is ever asked for a review, which is the one thing both stores ban. Subscription codes always say the plan renews at full price unless you cancel. What stops someone from taking all the codes? One code per account per app, a monthly cap per account, and a human check on every claim. Each code is shown only to the person who claimed it. How many users do you have? The list opened yesterday, so it's early. Drop #001 is the first real test, and I'll share the numbers after. Android too? Yes, same drop, both stores. Developers upload Google Play promo codes the same way as App Store codes. What's the catch for users? None. You sign in, pick the apps you want and claim one code each. Just remember that free months of a subscription renew at full price unless you cancel. More questions? comment below submitted by /u/antocapp [link] [comments]
