I built BitBoard, a free tabletop RPG battle map for Android, plus chess, checkers, go, and backgammon with AI opponents. No ads, no account, no internet permission.

I've been working on BitBoard, a game table that fits in your pocket. The tabletop part came first. The Bit Board mode is a grid you lay over a plain table or over any image you pick, like a dungeon map you drew or a screenshot of a battle map. Then you place markers on it: - Shapes with a colour and a label - Your own photos as tokens - Any piece from the built-in games and themes It also has dice from d4 to d100, up to twenty at a time. Pinch to zoom, drag to move. You can keep as many boards as you like, and each one saves as you play, so every campaign or encounter gets its own. Four classic games are built in too: chess, checkers, go (9×9, 13×13, 19×19), and backgammon with the doubling cube. Play a friend on the same phone, or play the computer at five levels from Novice to Grandmaster. The computer learns from your games on the phone itself. Other features: - Fifteen theme packs, from knights and samurai to underwater and sci-fi - Game history with move-by-move replay - A rules guide for every game Free. No ads, no purchases, no account, no analytics. The app doesn't even ask for internet permission, so it couldn't phone home if it wanted to. I made it so playing games with people is easy wherever you are. It's built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and the only libraries are Jetpack and Kotlin's own. Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nwh.bitboard I'd love feedback, especially from anyone who runs tabletop sessions or loves board games. What would make the battle map useful at your table? Would it work as a side map, or for keeping a record of encounters? Anything that could make the board games better? I plan to improve the computer opponents as time permits. submitted by /u/N8Adventures [link] [comments]
