Tottenham legend Clive Allen is more than willing to help Harry Kane with his dream career change once the Ballon d’Or winner is done with football.Spurs fans have been taking delight in seeing the footballing world finally appreciate Kane as a true modern-day great following his well-deserved Ballon d’Or win.Several past and present Tottenham players have hailed Kane on social media, demonstrating the kind of regard with which he is held at the North London club. However, the dream of seeing the striker back at N17 may be slipping away, as reports indicate that Bayern are working to remove Spurs’ right-to-match clause for Kane.Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty ImagesClive Allen offers to help Tottenham legend Harry Kane with NFL transitionWhile it remains to be seen what transpires in the rest of the striker’s football career, he has already voiced his ambitions on what he wants to do after retiring from the game.Being a huge NFL Fan, Kane has admitted in the past that he will seriously consider transitioning into an NFL kicker. He said back in 2024: “That is something I will try and look at a bit more seriously. It all depends on what happens in my career over the next five or six years, the motivation and what I want to do. The NFL is a lot more realistic than the golf one, let’s put it that way.”One man who did successfully make that transition is former Spurs striker Clive Allen, who played American football as a placekicker for the London Monarchs of NFL Europe, and he is now ready to give Kane a helping hand. When asked about the Ballon d’Or winners’ aspirations to make the switch to gridiron, Allen told talkSPORT: “There’s talk of it. I’ll be happy to help him with that. I’m sure, the one thing I know he’s got, he’s got the leg to do it, that’s for sure. “And you have to have a really strong kicking leg and he will have the mentality to deal with it as well. So, yeah, that would be fun to see him try that.”You might be wondering why Clive Allen is a font of knowledge on NFL kicking. Sure, Allen is known as the man with the most Spurs goals in a single season, but what does he know about the NFL?Well, in 1997, after his professional football career, Allen played as an American football placekicker for the London Monarchs, who competed in NFL Europe at the time. He had a good record too, converting six out of six field goals and 7/10 extra points.NFL star reveals what Kane’s biggest challenge will be in making the transitionJacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Littler was asked about Kane’s NFL goal, and he has no doubts that the former Tottenham man has the ability and technique to be a kicker. However, he pointed out that the 33-year-old may find it difficult to make the mental transition to the American sport, as kickers in the NFL have to watch on from the sidelines until they are up, and do not have the luxury of getting into the game’s rhythm.Littler told AP: “It’s just so different, sitting there on the sidelines the whole game. You’re not going to get on the ball, and you don’t have the same moxie, I guess, because he is a star striker for the team.“So that moxie is just kind of put to the side. You’ve got to let everyone else do the big man’s job, and then you’re out there just to back everyone up basically.“He’s probably talented enough to do it. His technique in soccer is so good. But it’s just such a different mental, I’d say, challenge than soccer.“It’d be like him taking five set pieces a day. And he’s got to deliver on all five set pieces, or you didn’t do your job for the day.”READ MORE: Roberto De Zerbi tried to sign his old striker Amine Gouiri for Tottenham this summerThe post Tottenham legend offers to help Harry Kane with his dream career change appeared first on Spurs Web.
