The Chieftain Mk.11 represented one of the final and most capable upgrades of Britain's legendary Chieftain main battle tank family. Entering service during the Cold War, the Mk.11 introduced improved fire-control systems and enhanced passive protection while retaining the powerful 120 mm L11A5 rifled gun, renowned for its long-range accuracy. Designed to counter the growing threat posed by Soviet armored forces in Europe, the Chieftain emphasized firepower and protection over mobility, becoming one of NATO's most respected main battle tanks throughout the 1970s and 1980s. https://cults3d.com/:5131172 submitted by /u/Vbertz to r/cults3d [link] [comments]
