I redesigned a torrent client for the Mac so your download speed looks like water

Wait 5 sec.

Torrent clients on the Mac work fine, they just look ancient. So I forked Transmission, kept its engine and rebuilt the whole interface around one idea: a torrent is just water moving. It's called Nagare (流れ, flow). - The header shows your speed as water, last ten minutes of up and down - Every transfer is a row of droplets, one dot per piece, with seeds and peers next to it - When you're seeding it turns into a tide - Torrents and magnets open the same glass panel, and you can rename stuff before it starts - Built-in search and qBittorrent import - Light and dark themes in Liquid Glass Built it with Claude. I did the design direction and we tested it on real swarms of public-domain films. Free and open source. Apple Silicon and macOS 26 only, and it's not notarised, so you'll have to hit Open Anyway the first time, or build it from source. https://github.com/Nik-code/nagare Would love to know what you think, especially if something feels off. submitted by /u/Nik_116 [link] [comments]
