New explosions started from the north summit vent, as eruptions have been intensifying gradually. Intense eruptions generated ash columns and incandescent material visible on the webcam. Some events produced glowing avalanches, as lava bombs showered the upper summit cone. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin reported ash plume heights of about 7,000 ft (2,100 m) altitude, propagating to the west of the volcano.Simultaneously, minor eruptions also have taken place from the south crater associated with incandescence visible from the crater at night.
