I built a 1-line Shadow DOM chatbot for your website (footer script)

Hey r/SideProject, I’ve been building websites for small businesses and local clinics, and some clients asked for an AI assistant to handle common customer inquiries (opening hours, pricing, bookings, services). When I looked at existing tools (Chatbase, Tidio, Intercom, etc.), I hit two main walls: Insane pricing tiers: Asking a small restaurant, dental clinic, or side project to pay $30–$70 every single month for a basic FAQ bot especailly in the Greek market where I'm from s a tough sell. Integration headaches: Traditional iframe embeds feel clunky and don't match the host page nicely, while raw script injection frequently clashes with CSS resets, Tailwind utility classes, or WordPress styles. So I built Parrot Super (https://parrotsuper.com) as a lightweight, developer-friendly micro-SaaS: How it works under the hood: Zero-Friction Embed: A single . Edge Architecture: Backend runs entirely on Cloudflare with Cloudflare KV for sub-2ms edge configuration and knowledge retrieval from a configuration dashboard. Pure Shadow DOM: The floating widget and chat window generated are fully encapsulated inside a Shadow Root. Host page CSS, fonts, and frameworks physically cannot bleed into or break the widget styling. Fast LLM Inferences: Powered by Google Gemini Flash( more comming soon ) providing sub-second streaming answers and tone matching in both English and Greek. Instant Sandbox: In the onboarding flow (/create), you can input your domain, and it loads a live preview of your actual site with the bot rendered over it so you can test questions immediately. Pricing & Unit Economics: I wanted pricing so affordable that keeping it active on a website is a no-brainer: €2/month. Because direct Gemini API costs on short FAQ queries run around a fraction of a cent per conversation, the margins remain sustainable while keeping it accessible for solo builders and small businesses. Right now, it is completely free to test and use until January 1, 2027 while I stress-test the API and real-world edge cases. Live Demo & Feedback: You can play with the live preview right away on the site: 👉 https://parrotsuper.com I’d love your honest, unfiltered feedback: How does the widget responsiveness feel on your browser/device? Are there specific integrations you'd consider mandatory (e.g. lead webhook to Telegram/Discord, custom document/PDF uploads)? Any edge cases where the Shadow DOM encapsulation caused quirks on unusual site layouts? Thank youu! submitted by /u/Affectionate-Dig8702 [link] [comments]
