Vox today announced the launch of a new mobile app, bringing together all of the brand’s work across podcasts, videos, and written stories in one place. The app is free to download in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and users who are not existing Vox Members receive a 14-day free trial when they sign up. “We’re excited to bring Vox’s audience an app that does justice to our work across written, audio, and video journalism. Users can properly enjoy them all in one place for the first time, and I hope the app will introduce them to aspects of our work that they were not familiar with,” said Swati Sharma, Vox’s editor-in-chief and publisher. Every story Vox publishes will land in the app’s Home tab, where users can navigate between Featured stories and the Latest published. For a quick take on what’s important today, there is a Start Here section. The app experience for members features ad-free listening of Vox’s award-winning podcasts, including Today, Explained with Sean Rameswaram and Noel King, America, Actually with Astead Herndon, Unexplainable, The Gray Area, and Explain It to Me. The app’s Video tab is a new way to deliver Vox’s short-form videos on the big topics shaping the audience’s life. Additionally, the best of Vox’s longer videos are available in a Featured Video section in the Home tab, including in-depth explainers and member-exclusive segments from Vox’s podcasts. ###ABOUT VOXVox was launched in 2014 to address the disconnect between the widely reported facts of the day and a true understanding of why something happened. It developed a widely imitated explainer format that delivers understanding across digital platforms, newsletters, a YouTube channel with nearly 13 million subscribers, and a stable of podcasts. Under the leadership of editor-in-chief Swati Sharma, Vox has grown a membership program with tens of thousands of paying subscribers.
