Does Vampires: Blood Moon have enough unique features to rank among the top new online slots? Initially, I didn’t think so. However, after a few spins, I changed my mind.If you’re a fan of free spins bonuses with a twist, this Booming Games slot is for you. Here’s my honest take on the Vampires: Blood Moon slot.Vampires: Blood Moon factsheet Name: Vampires: Blood Moon Software developer: Booming Games Slot type: Video slot Paylines: 30 Reels: 5 RTP: 95.8% Volatility: Medium Theme: Vampires Bonus round: Free spins, multipliers and symbol upgrades Minimum bet: £0.30 Maximum bet: £5 Min coins per line: N/A Max coins per line: N/A Min coins size: N/A Max coins size: N/A Vampires: Blood Moon slot summarySymbol upgrades and cascades make this slot’s free spins bonus different, but that’s not all. Along with respins and wilds, Vampires: Blood Moon has subtle but clever features like left-hand mode. Some things could be improved, such as the minimum bet, but they’re minor inconveniences rather than major problems. Pros ConsBigger-than-average 15,000x jackpot30p minimum bet is higher than most online slotsFree spins bonus with symbol upgradesFinding the mute button is almost impossibleRespins bonus with prize multipliers Vampires: Blood Moon features: Stats, bonus spins & specialsVampires: Blood Moon looks like a standard five-reel slot on the surface, but it’s not. There are nuances to this game that elevate certain features and push its maximum payout to a notable level.Vampires: Blood Moon slot RTP, payout & volatilityThe Vampires: Blood Moon RTP is 95.8%. The volatility rating is medium-high, and the maximum payout is 15,000x. Of those stats, the maximum payout is most impressive. It has that much payout potential because of its special features, as I explain in the sections below.Vampires: Blood Moon special featuresThere are two Vampires: Blood Moon slot bonus features. Both can be triggered at random, which means you don’t always need to match a certain number of symbols.Instead, moons and scatters (glasses of blood-red wine) get thrown into coffins. Any throw can trigger a bonus feature, which adds to the tension. Here’s how the Vampires: Blood Moon slot bonuses work:Vampires: Blood Moon collect bonusThe collect bonus is triggered at random when moon symbols are thrown into the ruby coffin. When triggered, you receive a series of respins that continue as long as new moon symbols are collected. Each moon contains a prize multiplier that gets added to your balance if the “collect” symbol appears at the same time. Once you’re out of spins, the combined value of collected moons becomes the final prize multiplier.Vampires: Blood Moon free spinsThe Vampires: Blood Moon slot free spins bonus round is the game’s most interesting element. It starts randomly when scatters are thrown into the emerald coffin. It’s also triggered when three scatters align on the first, third and fifth reel. You always get 15 free spins, whichever way you start the feature. That’s when the real magic happens. Prize combinations made up of minor symbols get removed from the board. This triggers a cascade and reduces the number of low-paying symbols.Prize combinations made up of major symbols activate the upgrade feature. This turns silver symbols gold. As you’d expect, gold symbols are worth more than silver ones, as I’ll explain later. Finally, wild symbols can help create winning combinations as they do in the main game. They also get added to your blood moon bank. Then, at the end of the bonus round, they’re released back onto the gameboard for a final Blood Moon Spin. Vampires: Blood Moon slot theme, audio & gameplay mechanicsVampires: Blood Moon welcomes you with what I’d describe as a Rocky Horror Show-esque soundtrack. I quite like the tune, which is fortunate because finding the mute button wasn’t easy. I opened the settings menu countless times, clicked around the edges of the gameboard, and even moved closer to the screen. I couldn’t find the speaker icon. Eventually, I tapped the small + icon attached to the bet button. This revealed a hidden menu with the sound controls. I can’t pretend this didn’t annoy me. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something so simple shouldn’t be that hard to find.As for aesthetics, the background is static, but parts of the gameboard come to life after the reels stop. Could the design be a bit more interesting? Perhaps. Is it in keeping with the glitzy horror vibe? Yes.One final thing I noticed while writing this Vampires: Blood Moon slot review is a setting called left-hand mode. As advertised, this feature flips the toolbar, putting the spin button on the left. I haven’t seen this before, but I like it. Vampires: Blood Moon slot symbols, multipliers & wildsAnyone can play Vampires: Blood Moon for cash prizes if you’ve got at least 30p in your casino account. That’s three times higher than the average minimum slot bet, which isn’t ideal. That said, Secret of the Witch, another new Halloween slot for 2026, has a minimum bet of 50p.As long as you can afford to play responsibly, the game’s five reels spin to reveal two categories of slot symbols:The Minors10JQKThe MajorsThe pocket watchThe chaliceThe ringThe heart pendantThe major symbols are cast in silver or gold, with the latter being worth twice as much. For example, five silver heart pendants trigger a 13.33x prize multiplier. Line up the same combination of pendants but in gold, and you’ll win 26.66x your bet.The kicker here is that golden symbols only appear during the Vampires: Blood Moon free spins round. In the main game, you’ll get help from wild bats. These symbols substitute for everything else except scatters, coins and collect symbols (the female vampire). Key takeaway – would I come back to this slot?I would play Vampires: Blood Moon again, but only with the sound turned down. For me, the effort it took to find the mute button almost put me off this slot for life. Luckily, after almost an hour of testing, I found it. That’s a good thing because this game has hidden talents. Despite its generic design, Vampires: Blood Moon has some cool features that I’ve not seen before. That’s why I call it a sleeper slot: it looks basic, but it’s not.
