I don't even know how many years I've been in love with Chanel 1957. I wish I'd never smelled it, but I stumbled upon them at an airport years ago and got HOOKED in that moment. I tested it through years on my skin, clothes etc and my verdict havent change one day I'll own it. When I'm ready, when I can comfortably afford it, when I'm/my life is this or that... You get the idea. It's always remained a fantasy. For context, Narciso For Her used to be my one and only signature scent for 10 years. Then I got bored, and the past 4 years have been a rollercoaster of testing, buying, selling and trying to find "the one" again. At least I've learned to appreciate samples, smaller bottles and got experienced on secondhand perfumes along the way And now I've found a secondhand 200ml of it (havent finding a 75ml yet) and the price per ml of the 200ml makes SO much more sense in retail too (girl math is mathing 💅) Part of me thinks: "The perfect moment will never come. Just buy it and get over the fantasy. Either the illusion disappears or you'll finally own something you truly love!" BUT this would be my most expensive perfume purchase EVER. And honestly, I'm the only person around me who cares this much about perfume 😂 I'd almost feel embarrassed telling people I own a Chanel Exclusif. Like, WHO AM I to spend that much on perfume? (please dont shame me on these thoughts, i know some may sound ridicilous to people as im writing them, im not thrilled to think/feel that way) so im trying to stay logical and figure out whether this is me finally treating myself to something I've wanted for years, or just finding increasingly creative ways to justify an expensive purchase. Neverthless to say, i have 2 parfumes already (Prada Iris & Eau Capitale) but neither has given me that signature scent feeling yet. I genuinely miss being a one-perfume girl. Wish my ex signature had never bored me or i would just be satisfied with another one. So tell me, have you ever splurged on a fragrance you'd been dreaming about for years? Was it worth it? Or did the excitement wear off once you finally owned it? And in that case would you go for the better value 200ml or wait for a 75ml, even if the price per ml is worse (naturally). or should i wait and just enjoy current ones cause i am now too attached to things or looking for dopamine submitted by /u/LeatherOther2054 to r/Perfumes [link] [comments]
