About a month ago I launched Ascend, a workout and nutrition app I built by myself. Since then I've pushed nine updates in 32 days, mostly based on what my first few users told me. The biggest lesson came from one of them. I asked him what made him stick with it over the bigger apps, and he said it wasn't the features. It was that it keeps him accountable. That changed how I think about the whole product. Some things I built because of that: If you miss a day, you tap "I skipped this day" and the workout moves to today instead of your plan falling apart Emergency workouts for when you only have 8–15 minutes, so a busy day doesn't mean zero Meal photo macros and barcode scanning, so tracking food takes seconds "Eating out" rankings for places like Chipotle, CAVA and Sweetgreen, for people trying to stay on track at restaurants The latest update added 90-minute workouts, custom calorie and macro goals, and kg/lbs options. I'm still early and would love honest feedback, especially on what would make you actually stick with a fitness app. It's on the App Store as "Ascend Fitness & Nutrition" with a 7-day free trial. What's the one thing that's made you quit fitness apps in the past? submitted by /u/Ascend-AI-Fitness [link] [comments]
