Some background. When I'm deep in a project I get my coding agents to document pretty much everything: implementation plan for a big feature, a legal analysis, design ideas, launch plan, marketing plan etc. The problem was it all ended up as markdown files scattered across repos and chat windows, and whenever I wanted to send one to someone I wasn't happy with sending a Markdown file because non technical people are like: "TF is this?"". So I built OpenDocs. The agent publishes the markdown and you get a link you can send, plus a PDF (or Word file) with your logo and colors on it. If you publish again it updates the same link and keeps the old versions. The part I didn't expect: I'm also a founder at a fintech startup, and our OpenDocs workspace has kind of become our source of truth. Policies, meeting notes, plans, it's all in there. Because it's all in one place, ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Codex, whatever we're using that day can read it. So we go from "we need a doc on X" to a branded PDF pretty much in one go. This week it got into ChatGPT's plugin directory, and I shipped a Chrome extension that adds a Publish button under ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini answers. If you just want to try it there's a page where you paste markdown and get a link, no account: https://opendocs.cc/try Hardest part by far was making the PDF and Word file look like the web page. Footnotes, wide tables and math in Word nearly broke me. It's free up to 50 docs. Solo founder. Would love to know what would make you trust something like this with actual work docs. submitted by /u/gameonbby [link] [comments]
