Spendthrift Farm's Further Ado (c, 3, Gun Runner–Sky Dreamer, by Sky Mesa) broke his maiden by 20 lengths at Keeneland last year and returned to the Lexington oval to win the GI Toyota Blue Grass Stakes by 11 lengths this spring. He made his third start at Keeneland in the GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile Saturday and the result was a little closer this time as he just got half a nose in front of Owen Almighty (Speightstown) on the line. Further Ado, the even-money favorite, settled just off the pace as Owen Almighty rushed up to press Full Serrano (Arg) (Full Mast) through fractions of :22.67 and :46.14. Owen Almighty took charge entering the straight, as Further Ado was tipped out to reel 9-1 outsider. The favorite eyeballed the longshot as the wire loomed and just got the bob in a desperate charge to the wire. The time for the mile was 1:34.50. Lifetime Record: 11-5-2-1. O-Spendthrift Farm.
