Joseph Vijay to be a mere pushover, but he would sit through five years as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.Speaking to reporters in Manamadurai in Sivaganga district, he said: “During the rules of Jayalalithaa, M. Karunanidhi, and Edappadi K. Palaniswami in Tamil Nadu, crimes took place on a large scale as well. Mr. Palaniswami became a stooge for Sterlite management and was responsible for the police firing and killing of innocent people in Thoothukudi.”However, when the Sterlite management sought permission from Chief Minister Vijay to meet him, he refused to meet them. Even if they had offered ₹500 crore, he would not have allowed the factory to be reopened. This single instance was proof of the honesty of Mr. Vijay’s administration, he said.Mr. Vaiko said he appreciated the police for arresting the prisoners who escaped from the Theni district prison in a very short time. “What more can the police do? Yet, some leaders are raising a hue and cry that prisoners have escaped from jail. Why did they not raise their voices against such incidents during the previous regimes?,” he questioned.“Some people say Mr. Vijay’s government will collapse in six months. But his government will remain in power for five full years, and he will come to power again. There is no corruption or bribery in government offices.
