Xabi Alonso has ruled out the possibility of Estevao Willian leaving Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window. The winger’s lack of game time has become a talking point after he was left on the bench for the Blues’ defeat to Liverpool via penalty shootout at Anfield on Wednesday night. Estevao is yet to make a start in the Premier League this season, with all six of his top-flight appearances coming as a substitute. The 19-year-old missed the FIFA World Cup with Brazil in the summer after suffering a torn hamstring towards the end of last season. Alonso promised that Estevao, who is considered one of the most talented teenagers in world football, will get opportunities to play for the team.“Sure he will play,” he said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea‘s meeting with Manchester United this Saturday.“The season is long and there will be moments for everyone. It’s a process for the team, for Este, for myself.“But I’m sure that in the season he will have his games, his minutes. And we are still early in the season, but he will be there.”He added: “It’s not about attitude. It’s been about the context of games. It’s been about the start of the season.”Alonso rules out January move for Chelsea starlet EstevaoAlonso was adamant that Estevao will not be sent out on loan in January to get more minutes on the pitch this season. “No, no, no. No discussions about that.”Asked how he goes about keeping the player happy when he’s not playing, Alonso replied: “It’s no secret that all players want to be on the pitch; they want to be playing.“And when any of them haven’t had enough minutes because of my decision, I have to take the responsibility for that, that they are not as happy as they could be.“But, as well, everyone has to be ready because in any game they could be important. They could be part of the team.” Alonso also revealed that he has spoken with Estevao about his lack of game time for Chelsea this term. “We speak and we try to share our views,” he said. “It comes from me because he’s young and I need to involve him in the conversation.”Read – Como shut door on Nico Paz exit amid Man Utd linksBallon d’Or 2026 – Every winner from this year’s ceremonySee Also – Five of the best Premier League away kits in 2026/27Follow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Alonso comments on possible January move for Chelsea starlet Estevao appeared first on The Football Faithful.
