If your hardware sucks and/or you're addicted to cloud frontier models, don't feel bad.

Wait 5 sec.

In fact, they're not mutually exclusive. They're mutually synergistic! Ask Claude/ChatGPT/GLM or whatever cloud model you're addicted to to help you run local models. Even if your hardware sucks and you can only run tiny ones, you can probably find some way to make them fit into your workflow and get the most out of them. I've been plugging Claude into my Local Dream app to generate stable diffusion images right on my own hardware (a fairly powerful phone). I'm building an app specifically for experimenting with everything I can do with local LLMs like Gemma 4 e4b and e2b, and giving Claude easy access to them at rhe same time. submitted by /u/copenhagen_bram [link] [comments]
