Business IT Graduate Soon (UX focused) ALREADY Considering a Tech EXODUS Pivot! ADVICE PLEASE! : Considering NURSING

Wait 5 sec.

Mid 30s and feeling insecure about this path. Went from graphic design into UX, studying bachelors degree currently and about 1 year left. 1,5 year Graphic design experience. I thought Getting a Business and IT Hybrid degree would lead to more Stability than simply graphics. (Have a shorter 2 year vocational degree in graphic design from before) But seeing the rapid pace of AI, the Ever increasing Experience Demand... I mean now many roles don't even require the 3-5 year experience, increasingly they want 8-10 years of experience, for ENTRY-LEVEL ROLES many times WTF. ?!! So even IF I STICK THAT LONG TO THIS CAREER, I'd have to be POOR and working Internships for a Decade, in hopes of MAYBE LANDING a Paid role, which might not Even Exist in a few years due to AI..... Even as I plan and plot and Niche down into Enterprise Software and CRM Skillset for a bit more stability and elss competition: But Not Just in UX, There seems to be 0 STABILITY NOW in -ANY- and All IT AND BUSINESS roles?!? Considering just getting a Practical Nursing degree after this or becoming a school paraprofessional/Teacher's Aide) or going into Theraphy career alltogether (I wanted and considered Therapist role when younger ,but was not in right place yet back then/Too much Social anxiety I hadn't dealt with). Maybe a Licenced Practical Nurse degree (1,5-2 years) for quick stability first, then Occupational Therapist degree (3.5-4 years), keep in mind with ADHD higher education degrees usually take me 1 year longer to complete.... And then just DO UX FREELANCING ON THE SIDE Rather than put ALL MY ENERGY into Trying to work UX FULLTIME ONLY?!? Ontop of All, I'm Neurodivergent (AuDHD, Autistic level1 + ADHD) So everything is so much harder and more exhausting both Schooling and Job Vice.😵‍💫 I'm not even sure my ND ass can handle a Nursing job, the OT Path seems better suited to my personality too (INFJ/INFP), but degree is 3.5-4 years, so less quick ay towards stability than LPS that can be done like 1.5+2 years. I'd like to clarify that I'd still like to do UX, just seems better long-term fit to do it part-time as Independent Consulttant than rely on Unreliable Companies who can fire you anytime??!😭 Especially given how often us Autistics get fired from jobs?? IT field and most fields SOOOO cooked and unstable nowadyss??? I want and need stability! ANY AND ALL PERSECTIVES WELCOME! What do You guys consider the best path forward?? submitted by /u/0ct0berHeart [link] [comments]
