I built a focus app that doesn’t try to make you more productive. It just helps you slow down.

Wait 5 sec.

I’ve been thinking about how we approach focus. Almost every productivity app tries to help us do more, work faster, or squeeze more out of our day. But sometimes, I don’t need another app pushing me to be productive. I just need something that helps me slow down and concentrate on one thing. That idea led me to build Tempus Fugit, a pendulum clock for iPhone. I wanted the feeling of having an old, beautifully crafted desk clock, but with a little more to it. The pendulum swings, the clock keeps time, and there’s a built-in focus timer for Pomodoro sessions. You can put your phone on a stand beside your workspace and let it become a small part of your environment rather than another screen competing for your attention. I also wanted the pendulum itself to feel satisfying to watch, something you can interact with when you need a tiny mental break. It’s not trying to replace every productivity tool or turn your day into a series of optimized tasks. It’s more about creating a calmer atmosphere for doing the work you already want to do. I’m continuing to build on that idea, with features that make the clock useful beyond a single focus session. Curious how other people approach this: do you prefer a timer that keeps you accountable, or something quieter that helps you get into the right headspace? submitted by /u/suniltarge [link] [comments]
