Hi3D has released its AI model Hi3D V1.0, previously called Sparc3D, as open source. The code is on GitHub and the model weights are on Hugging Face, where a demo is also available. Models can also be generated for free on the Hi3D website. According to Hi3D, 90 percent of generated models slice successfully. Training data grew from about 500,000 to around two million 3D objects, and the effective sparse-grid resolution reaches up to 1536³. In its own evaluation, the company says the model scored best for detail and multi-view fidelity. The announcement does not say which models it was compared against. The license is not stated in the report. All performance figures come from the vendor and have not been independently tested. Commercially, Hi3D already offers version 3.0 with 2048³ voxels, plus tools for splitting models with connectors and converting textured models into color regions for multicolor printing.
