Sunderland welcome Brentford to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday for their Carabao Cup fourth-round tie, with Régis Le Bris’ side hoping the cup fixture can help them move past a run of three matches without a victory. It has been a tough stretch for the Black Cats. They are bottom of the Premier League after taking only five points from their opening eight fixtures, though Sunday’s hard-fought 0-0 draw at home to Leeds United ended a painful sequence of four straight domestic defeats. Their results have still been inconsistent, with the club finding it hard to manage the demands of the league alongside their involvement in the UEFA Europa League.Sunderland team newsLe Bris is expected to make extensive changes for the EFL Cup match at the Stadium of Light. There is good news at the back, as Kevin Danso is eligible again following the completion of a domestic ban.Nordi Mukiele should also be involved after being substituted against Leeds; that change was reportedly a tactical decision rather than because of a fitness issue.Brian Brobbey, however, is likely to be kept out of the side so that he is ready for the upcoming Premier League game against Coventry.Sunderland will certainly be missing Daniel Ballard, who has a hamstring injury, and Romaine Mundle, who is out with a knee complaint. Thomas Meunier and Wilson Isidor are also major doubts. As a result, squad players such as Melker Ellborg, Dayann Methalie, Chris Rigg, and Malick Fofana could be given starting opportunities. Young attackers Timur Tutierov or Juan Riquelme Angulo may even be asked to lead the attack.Sunderland predicted lineupPossible Sunderland starting XI: Ellborg; Mukiele, O’Nien, Alderete, Methalie; Ahoka, Rigg; Fofana, Diarra, Angulo; TutyerovWhen will the match kick off?The match will kick off at 7:45pm BST on Wednesday, 28th October. How to watch Sunderland vs Brentford?Supporters in the UK can follow the Sunderland versus Brentford Carabao Cup fourth-round fixture live on Sky Sports+.Read Also – Manchester City vs Brighton – Match preview and team newsSee More – Aston Villa XI vs Bournemouth – Predicted lineup and team newsFollow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTubeThe post Sunderland vs Brentford – Predicted lineup and team news appeared first on The Football Faithful.
