GOLD Spiked to 4,083 on the Fed and Faded. 4,012 Next?GoldOANDA:XAUUSDTrade-LeanThe Fed gave gold one big push last night. Price spiked to 4,082.83 and gave all of it back. It's now trading around 4,025. That matters for my own call from yesterday morning. I expected a move back to 4,106.82 before the October close. Gold never got there, and I don't think it gets there this week. In the closest historical months, a tag of 4,106.82 from this spot happened only about one time in five. What looks more likely now is a dip first. 4,012 is the next level down on the monthly map, and the weekly map has 4,003 just below it. Both point the same way, so I'm flipping the short-term view. Wrong if: gold gets back to 4,106.82 before it touches 4,012. The bigger picture hasn't broken. The October low at 3,975.65 still holds, and so does the yearly shelf I've been writing about. This is a call for the last two trading days of the month, not a call that gold's floor is gone. Not financial advice.
