The Union Cabinet has recently approved a significant scheme to boost container manufacturing in India. This Rs 10,000 crore initiative aims to enhance production capacity by ten-fold by the year 2040. It will reduce the country's reliance on container imports and improve supply-chain resilience. Financial assistance will support eligible manufacturers meeting global shipping standards. Additionally, an interest subvention will aid in the expansion of existing facilities for container production.
