I started a home health case with a guy who is only a couple years older than me. He has no control or movement in most of his body, but his mind is fully intact He is able to communicate with only facial expressions and a device he types on with his eyes. He is very misunderstood. I don’t know why exactly, but I am starting to have intense feelings for him. I have a lot of past trauma with men, making a normal relationship something I haven’t even considered in almost two years. I am scared of getting physically abused and cheated on. Now all of a sudden I am having butterflies for someone who can’t move and has a disease with a death sentence. I am trying to tell myself that I’m not feeling this way, but I can’t suppress it. He is so happy to have me as his nurse, and I’m not sure if it is just appreciation or if he feels more, as well. I know it’s wrong on so many ethical levels when it comes to my nursing license. But can someone please tell me I’m not absolutely insane feeling this way about someone whose health is not great? Has someone else been in the same boat, falling in love with someone who has so many needs and you know your time is going to be cut short? submitted by /u/Prestigious-Comb5962 [link] [comments]
