SPX500 — Three weeks later, the triangle is still intact S&P 500SP_DLY:SPXgisabdib The S&P 500 is at 7,743.98, up 9.85 points (+0.13%), pressing against the same horizontal ceiling near 7,780 that it has been testing since late August. This is the second time I’ve mapped this structure, and nothing material has changed. The ascending triangle built off the March low at 6,330 remains intact: the rising trendline keeps catching pullbacks at progressively higher levels, the horizontal cap has not broken, and the apex continues to narrow. What has happened in three weeks is that the trendline has climbed roughly 100 points closer to the ceiling. The moving averages confirm the trend has not weakened. The 50 EMA at 7,712.54 and the 200 EMA at 7,583.38 are both rising and correctly stacked, with price above both. The index has not closed beneath the 50 EMA since the September pullback. RSI at 54.80 sits above its signal line at 47.73, near the midpoint. That is unusual for a market at the highs and worth noting: momentum has reset repeatedly without price giving ground, which is what accumulation under resistance looks like. The contrast with the Nasdaq is the detail worth watching. The tech index failed its October breakout, broke its rising trendline and lost both moving averages. The S&P has done none of those things. That divergence between the two US benchmarks has been widening for two weeks. Levels: - Resistance: 7,780. Five tests without a clean 4H close above it. A breakout projects toward the 8,200 area on the measured move. - Support: 7,712 (50 EMA), then the rising trendline near 7,650. Below those, 7,583 (200 EMA) is where the trend itself comes into question.
