I’m building Pilo, an open-source personal bot inspired by Grok Bots. It helps you delegate research, writing, job-search preparation, coding, and permitted browser actions, with specialist bots for different kinds of work. The idea came from loving the experience of helpful AI bots but finding the token costs hard to sustain. In my own setup, I exhausted my available tokens in about four hours. I wanted more control over how model usage was spent. Pilo aims to reduce unnecessary model calls and repeated context through compact instructions and playbooks loaded when needed. I don’t have a controlled cost-savings benchmark yet. The current version runs on your computer; cloud capabilities and mobile access are on the roadmap. Hosted model calls can still incur charges, and reliability and security are active development areas. I’d love feedback from other builders: what is one task you would want a personal bot to handle well? submitted by /u/Stunning_Progress_19 [link] [comments]
