I was tired of shady keyboard apps and ad-filled websites, so I coded a 100% client-side, zero-ad aesthetic font & bio generator

Wait 5 sec.

Hey r/SideProject, A quick weekend build to solve a small personal annoyance. A while ago, I was looking for clean Unicode font variations (like Fraktur, cursive, tiny caps, or aesthetic combos) to style my code readmes and profile bios. What I found out there felt absurd: Mobile keyboard apps asking for "Full Disk Access" and tracking keystrokes. Cluttered ad farms where clicking "Copy" triggers 30-second video game interstitials. "AI Bio Generators" charging $15/month subscriptions for basic Unicode transformations. It felt ridiculous. It's just Unicode characters—why did simple utilities have to become so bloated and predatory? So I spent the weekend building a utility-first alternative with three strict constraints: - **Zero AI & Pure Client-Side**: No API wrapper. All font variations and aesthetic combos run 100% locally in your browser using the native Clipboard API. - **0.01s Instant Copy**: Click anywhere on a card, and the styled text is in your clipboard. No modals, no delay. - **Cross-Platform Tested**: Unicode alphanumeric glyphs can be notorious for turning into broken tofu boxes (tofu glyphs) on older systems. Every mapping was hand-curated to ensure stable rendering across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. ### Tech Stack: - Vanilla JS + Modern Cyber-Pink CSS Design System (Zero NPM framework bloat) - Globally edge-hosted (Cloudflare Workers, sub-40ms response) I'll drop the site in the comments for anyone who wants to try it out. Would love to hear your thoughts on performance, UI polish, or what rare Unicode categories I should code in next! submitted by /u/Both-Tart7460 [link] [comments]
