I built a free poetry app where you battle in live slams and the crowd votes. Roast it.

Wait 5 sec.

Hey all. I'm the solo dev behind VerseLab, a poetry app for writing, sharing, and slamming poems. It's live on iOS and Android, built with Flutter + Supabase. The idea: social media trained us to scroll past a thousand things a day and remember none of them. I wanted something that turns that time into making something instead, but in a way that's actually fun, not homework. What it does: • Daily prompts and poetry forms (haiku, concrete poetry, etc.) for when you're staring at a blank page • Live slams and group slams with open voting, so the crowd decides • Clubs, public or private, so friend groups, classrooms, and writing circles can run their own slams • Creator Pack for clean, signed poem exports you can post anywhere Some things I'd love feedback on: 1. Does the "slam" angle make poetry feel more approachable, or more intimidating? 2. Onboarding: how fast do you get to writing your first poem? 3. What would make you come back tomorrow? There’s some crazy creativity already and it’s fun to see. Links in the first comment. Be brutal, I can take it. submitted by /u/Savings_Dealer5044 [link] [comments]
