This seems like the mother actually had the "helpers " in mind knowing that there are several people having to watch what they spend these days. This is a very normal wish list IMO even had enough common sense to add winter gloves, boots, and a coat! I see nothing choosy or begging about this post at all. Kinda missed the mark on this one OP
