The three-line status ✅ Gold scalp short 4,021.00 — both targets hit. 1H low printed 3,988.83. +3.24R. 🟠 Gold intraday short 4,018.50 — still open, and it's working. Now +3.17 pts (18.6% of risk consumed on the right side). Plan: halve at T1 3,975.65, stop stays 4,035.50. ❌ Gold swing short 4,026.00 — missed. Day high 4,026.75 vs my 4,026.00 entry. 75 cents short. Annoying, but that's what a limit order does — it either fills or it doesn't, and chasing would have put you in at the worst tick. What the tape is telling us The 13:00 bar rejected the supply stack. It flushed to $3,988.83 and closed $3,993.18 on 38,974 volume = 1.5× average. That's not a break of resistance — that's resistance working. Price has since reclaimed $4,021. But volume overall is contracting: today 461,381 vs a 22-day average of 617,100 = 0.75×. Pre-FOMC chop. That's why both the $4,026.75 gold high and the $81,162 BTC high failed — there's no participation behind the moves. Gold is also pinned at the 1D lower Bollinger ($4,022.45). Band-riding like that is stretched — which is a genuine risk to the short if it snaps back. Trade discipline note G2 is a MEDIUM, not a HIGH. The 4H and 1D are aligned bearish with ADX 43 behind the trend — but the 1H rating is Buy (RSI 54.1, MACD hist +2.21). You'd be fading live 1H momentum at a level. That's a valid tactic, not a trend-following entry. Size accordingly: 0.3–0.5% risk, not 1%. And the clock matters: FOMC is 28 Oct ≈18:00 UTC — about 51 hours out, not tomorrow. Take G2 as a 3–8 hour trade, scratch or bank it by 22:00 UTC tonight, and be flat by 27 Oct 12:00 UTC.
