Hi all, I often draw 3d models that we 3d print and if it is correct, we make pressing jigs so metal parts can be pressed in the right shape. Usually I start from a 2d model or outline that I build up to 3d and then I can kind of figure out how to change the 2d model so that when we cut the part, it will press nicely into the shape we want with the jig. But now I have a 3d model that does not have this. It is a 2mm thick model that I would like to flatten so that it becomes a 2d part that I can then create an outline and we can cut it to test. I don't want to flatshot it. I just want to "unbend'' it so to say. Is there anyone that know if and then how this can be done in autocade? Of course I can measure all the sizes and then use that to creat the flat drawing but I would prefer if there is function for this (although I doubt it). submitted by /u/Additional_Celery667 to r/Autodesk_AutoCAD [link] [comments]
