SathyamoorthyThe Railways has cancelled Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) services from October 27 to 29, 2026 in view of heavy rainfall and earth slips at many places.Services of Mettupalayam – Udagamandalam Passenger Train (No.56136) scheduled to depart from Mettupalayam 7.10 a.m., and the Udagamandalam – Mettupalayam Passenger Train (No.56137) scheduled to depart at 2 p.m. in the return direction have been cancelled, a release issued by the Southern Railway said.Works are on to remove boulders and mud, and trees fallen on the railway track.
